It's normally £1.65 for 1 issue at the news stand, but with this offer from Great Magazines you get 4 issues with free delivery, for a total of just £1. This is so cheap that it's virtually free as far as we're concerned, since the £1 is just a token payment. But you'll need to grab the offer before it expires on 29th Feb 2012 if you don't want to miss out. You'll need to provide Direct Debit details, and if you continue the subscription beyond the first 4 issues you'll enjoy 25% savings off the cover price. • Free Wifi in Tesco Extra Stores
If you are a Tesco Clubcard member, you can now use free wifi on your Smartphone or other Wifi device, at Tesco Extra Stores. You can your nearest Tesco Extra on the special site Tesco have set up about this. Once in a Tesco Extra you just provide your Clubcard number when you log onto the service.
• Free home insulation for everyone (Tesco)
Tesco are offering free cavity wall and free loft insulation to everyone this winter. Additionally, if you apply before 31 December 2011, and receive certain benefits, you'll also get 2,500 Tesco Clubcard points. But the offer for free insulation is ongoing and open to everyone, whether you are in receipt of benefits or not. Not all properties will be suitable for insulation. Those that already have pre-existing cavity wall insulation or which have loft insulation that's more than 150 mm thick may not be eligible for free insulation.
O2 announced at the beginning of 2011 their plans to launch a nationwide Wifi network which is free of charge even for non-customers. They now have a website where you can register for the service and find your nearest hotspot. So far (Nov 2011) service is only live in over 400 O2 shops, but more hotspots are planned at restaurants, shops, etc. Please note this is a separate service to O2's existing, larger wifi network for customers only. If you don't already have access to a wifi network (e.g. via a mobile phone contract), and your town centre has one of the 400+ O2 shops (check the site), this is one way to get online for free if you're nearby.

Nokia has recently switched on a trial of a free wi-fi service in central London, for internet browsing from your phone/laptop/netbook, etc. There are 26 hotspots in certain parts of central London, which can be found by using Nokia Maps, that anyone can use completely free of charge. There is no need to register or sign in.
